Product Overview

Ataplan is a biological seed-applied fungicide crafted to protect emerging seedlings from key soil-borne disease pressures. It works via a multi-mechanism microbial action: the beneficial bacterial strains colonise root zones and seed surfaces, compete with pathogenic organisms for space and nutrients, produce metabolites antagonistic to disease agents, and bolster early root development and plant vigour. Because it is designed for seed treatment, Ataplan helps secure the stand of the crop at its most vulnerable stage, supports better emergence and establishment, and contributes to integrated pest management (IPM) by providing a low-residue, biologically-based alternative to conventional fungicides. The result: stronger seedlings, healthier roots, and improved crop potential with a more sustainable approach.

Key benefits

  • Protects seeds and seedlings against soil-borne disease and damping-off.
  • Promotes strong root emergence and early plant establishment.
  • Extends protection beyond conventional chemical seed treatments thanks to microbial colonisation.
  • Compatible with integrated pest management programmes and conventional seed treatment systems.
  • Safe for beneficial soil organisms and contributes to improved soil-plant microbial balance.
  • Helps maintain crop productivity with an environmentally responsible approach.

Active ingredient information

Bacillus subtilis and bacillus velezensis protect plants from pests through direct action, such as producing insecticidal toxins and enzymes that damage pest bodies, and indirect action, like triggering the plant's own defense mechanisms (induced systemic resistance). They also compete with pests for resources and space and produce antimicrobial compounds that inhibit pest growth.
