India’s agricultural sector is undergoing an exciting shift toward sustainable agriculture, with growers increasingly seeking alternatives to chemical pesticides. By collaborating with leading Indian companies that share our mission to promote the uptake and use of bioprotection, the CABI BioProtection Portal is enhancing access to high-quality solutions tailored to the needs of Indian growers.

Welcoming PJ Margo to the CABI BioProtection Portal

We are thrilled to welcome PJ Margo, an Indian manufacturer specializing in biological solutions, as the latest addition to our growing network of partners. Their expertise and commitment to sustainable agriculture will enhance the resources available to Portal users, empowering growers to adopt environmentally friendly practices.

PJ Margo expressed enthusiasm about being part of the Portal, with Amit Dubey, Marketing Head, stating “private sector investment is necessary to sustain the efforts of CABI to promote the uptake of biocontrol products.”

Joining forces with T. Stanes

PJ Margo joins another well-established Indian manufacturer, T. Stanes & Company, which became a Portal partner in September 2024. T. Stanes commitment to sustainability has been repeatedly recognized by the Government of India with awards and partnerships for further projects in research and development as well as great appreciation from customers.

Enhancing information for bioprotection uptake

With PJ Margo on board, we are advancing our efforts to equip Indian growers with the tools they need to manage their crops effectively while minimizing the impact on the environment and human health.

Currently, users of the CABI BioProtection Portal can find all of T. Stanes’ biological products in India, available in English, Telugu and Hindi. These are featured as partner products and are linked to product factsheets.

Some of PJ Margo’s products are already listed on the Portal, but there are more coming as India’s data is being uploaded in phases. The Portal data team will soon add the remaining products. Those will be enhanced with additional information such as labels and safety datasheets.

Collaborating to advance sustainable pest management

Working together with our partners is essential to expanding our reach and amplifying the impact of our initiatives. For example, T. Stanes recently participated in a mass extension campaign in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh organized by CABI, alongside MSSRF, IAT and EFFORT. The campaign focused on chilli black thrips and demonstrating how digital tools like the CABI BioProtection Portal can help growers and advisors deal with this significant pest.

During this campaign, representatives from T. Stanes, including Mr. Nageswara Rao D (AP State Head) and Mr. Mohammed Anfas KT (Management Trainee), presented the company’s range of bioprotection solutions and shared insights on their applications. They also highlighted the value of integrating digital solutions into farming practices to boost crop health and yield.

This collaboration highlights the importance of digital tools in advancing sustainable pest management and reflects T. Stanes’ commitment to empowering farmers with innovative solutions.

As we continue to promote sustainable agricultural practices across India, collaborations like those with T. Stanes and PJ Margo play a vital role in driving the adoption of bioprotection solutions.

We look forward to deepening our collaboration with PJ Margo and building on our successful partnership with T. Stanes. Together, we are empowering Indian growers, reducing reliance on chemical pesticides, and fostering a sustainable future for agriculture.
