We are pleased to announce that COLEAD has joined the CABI BioProtection Portal as an Associate. COLEAD (COmmittee Linking Entrepreneurship-Agriculture-Development) is a not-for-profit association that aims to share knowledge and expertise in the agrifood and development fields. With a focus on low and middle-income countries, particularly in African, Caribbean, and Pacific countries, COLEAD works with a network of companies, professional organisations, and experts committed to inclusive and sustainable agriculture.
CABI and COLEAD have agreed to collaborate for the promotion and development of bioprotection globally, combining efforts to enhance sustainable agriculture practices.
The partnership will boost the visibility of the Portal to advisory service providers and growers through the promotion of the Portal database and resources on COLEAD’s website and within their network. Thus, users of the COLEAD website will be encouraged to search for available biocontrol and biopesticide products and navigate our educational content. This will further foster the adoption of bioprotection.
The importance of collaboration
The new partnership will enable the sharing of expertise and knowledge. The CABI BioProtection Portal resources will link to a wealth of comprehensive educational content from COLEAD’s e-learning and e-library. This will include COLEAD’s sustainable crop production guides, pest identification sheets, and crop protection guides.
Additionally, the Portal will link to the COLEAD Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) database, which can be a valuable resource for growers aiming to access stricter markets. This database provides information on the use of plant protection products in the Africa-Caribbean-Pacific countries, such as Maximum Residue Limits (MRL), aligning with European Union (EU) standards.
Through this collaboration, we will encourage users to profit from these helpful resources while enriching the content on the Portal. This will allow users to make better and more informed decisions.
