We are delighted to announce that BIOCARE has joined the CABI BioProtection Portal as a partner. Based in Germany, BIOCARE develops and sells top-quality products designed for biological crop protection.

Visitors of the CABI BioProtection Portal can now benefit from BIOCARE’s 25 years of experience working in biological plant protection for open-field applications, a company committed to providing farmers with effective and profitable products, thus enabling sustainable agriculture and the supply of healthy, residue-free food.

A portal to support non-chemical pest control

The CABI BioProtection Portal helps growers and agricultural advisors to identify, source and correctly apply non-chemical pest control products against problematic pests in their crops. The portal is a ground-breaking information resource that is now available in 25 countries across four continents.

Helping growers to replace chemical pesticides, the CABI BioProtection Portal was created to become the go-to information resource for those looking to identify and source products for the biological – or natural – control of pests.

The portal puts valuable information at the fingertips of the people who need it, and the joining of BIOCARE as a partner helps expand the available knowledge that is free to use and accessible on multiple devices.

BIOCARE’s partnership also boosts the geographical reach of the CABI BioProtection Portal in Germany, helping us to reach more farmers who want to learn more about biopesticides in agriculture.

Biopesticides help growers who need to meet market or export standards and reduce pressure on the environment and are highly beneficial in farming and cater to the demands of modern consumers looking for healthier and safer food.

Elisa Beitzen-Heineke, Directing Manager of BIOCARE, said, “We are pleased that the CABI BioProtection Portal is now available in more and more European countries and to be a part of it. We are convinced that many farmers would gladly use more bioprotectants, but that there is still not enough knowledge about the availability and specifications of bioprotectants. Therefore, we are very happy that CABI has initiated such a great portal that fills this knowledge gap and thus has the potential to significantly advance integrated farming.”

Dr Ulrich Kuhlmann, Executive Director, Global Operations at CABI, said: “I am delighted to welcome the German family-owned biocontrol manufacturer as a partner to the CABI BioProtection Portal. CABI and BIOCARE both share the view that biological control products must focus on the growers’ needs as they require highly efficient, high-quality, affordable and user-friendly products. Through this new partnership more product information will be made available to the growers and the advisory services to help them find the right products.”
