The CABI BioProtection Portal is delighted to welcome Ispahani Agro Limited as its first partner from Bangladesh, marking an important step in expanding access to sustainable crop protection solutions across South Asia.

With a history of doing business in the Indian subcontinent dating back to 1820, Ispahani has built a strong reputation for supporting agriculture in Bangladesh through innovation, research and farmer-focused solutions. Guided by its vision of “safe food for a better life,” the company works across four key business areas: seeds, biotechnology, agro-processing and crop health. Through these activities, Ispahani contributes to improving agricultural productivity while promoting environmentally responsible farming practices.
A shared commitment to sustainable agriculture
The partnership brings together two organizations with a common goal: helping farmers adopt sustainable pest management approaches and reduce reliance on conventional pesticides.
Ispahani and CABI have collaborated for many years and, alongside universities, non-governmental organisations and other partners, have played an active role in advancing sustainable agricultural technologies in Bangladesh.
“Through its partnership with the CABI BioProtection Portal, Ispahani reinforces its commitment to accelerating the adoption of Integrated Biorational Pest Management to advance safe food production and improve farmers’ livelihoods and builds a sustainable future for generations to come.” Fawzia Yasmeen, Director, Ispahani Agro Limited
As awareness of biopesticides continues to grow in Bangladesh, Ispahani is helping make these technologies more accessible through its extensive distribution network of more than 1,300 dealers and retailers. Today, the company offers 45 different biopesticide products, alongside a range of seeds and other agricultural inputs.
Bringing practical bioprotection solutions to farmers
Fifteen of Ispahani’s biological crop protection products are already featured on the CABI BioProtection Portal, helping farmers and advisors in Bangladesh identify and access registered bioprotection solutions. As part of the partnership, additional products will be added to the Portal, with each listing providing product use information and application requirements.
The partnership supports Ispahani’s ambition to broaden access to sustainable agricultural technologies, increase international visibility for its bioprotection portfolio and strengthen connections with growers and stakeholders in other markets.
Supporting farmers locally and globally
Ispahani is actively involved in research, production, processing and value-chain development, including significant work within the rice sector. The company also exports products internationally and is targeting further growth in markets including the Philippines and Rwanda.
Together, CABI and Ispahani are supporting the transition towards more sustainable pest management practices, empowering farmers with the knowledge and tools needed to produce healthy crops, protect biodiversity and contribute to resilient food systems for the future.
